Debris Recovery

TSI has performed storm debris recovery services under contract for numerous declared disasters over the past nine years. With over thirty trucks and fourteen loaders all owned by TSI, and over sixty other dedicated subcontracted trucks and equipment, TSI can load and transport thousands of cubic yards of debris daily. Our clients receive full documentation of all debris loaded and transported.

Marine Debris Recovery

Debris generated during hurricanes, tornados and floods is often displaced in bodies of water such as lakes, canals and marshlands. TSI has the required resources to recover storm debris from practically any location. Utilizing underwater video cameras and sonar equipment TSI can locate and recover debris that would normally go undetected.

Debris Reduction

TSI has performed debris reduction services for the past nine years throughout the Southeast United States. TSI maintains a 1000-hp tub grinder with full support equipment and has two other tub grinders available, with the capability of grinding in excess of 15,000 cubic yards per day. TSI can mobilize to practically any location within 24 hours of notice. As with our loading and transport all grinding is documented for our clients review.


All materials that are processed through the grinder are documented according to contract requirements. This normally includes load ticket and debris pile measurement.


Often a city or county may request that the materials be incinerated to assist in the reduction of storm debris. TSI maintains two air curtain blowers as part of the equipment available for use in these circumstances. Once all of the materials, vegetative or 'C and D,' have been segregated they will be evaluated as to whether they meet the qualifications to be incinerated.


TSI also has the capability of crushing and seperating the concrete recovered from the demolition of condemned or storm damaged structures. This service reduces the cost for disposal and often the end product can be used resulting in greater savings for TSI's clients.

Beach Renourishment

TSI has the experience and capabilties to perform beach renourshment at locations where storm surge has displaced beach sand. Our experience includes right of way clearing, sand reclamation, debris screening, berm replacement and the replanting of native grasses and sea oats. TSI owns all-terrain dump trucks and the necessary heavy equipment to rebuild storm damaged dunes and berms, while minimizing interference during tourist seasons.

Stream Restoration

When hurricanes hit the deluge of rain associated with them produces more water than most rivers and streams can accommodate. This often results in the stream current being displaced causing damage to the stream banks. Often trees and other vegetation will collapse into the base of the stream interfering with the natural currents. This can cause additional flooding and further damage along the banks. TSI has experience in stream restoration and relocation to assist in the natural flow of the stream. TSI personnel work closely with engineers to formulate action plans prior to beginning any stream restoration project to identify concerns in order to eliminate any possible time consuming issues.


More often than not it becomes necessary to assist streams in handling the increased flow by rerouting the pattern or slowing the current to prevent bank erosion. TSI has reworked streams to slow or redirect damaging currents without interrupting the volume of the streams.
